Hello, We've planned our trip for Sept 8-14 2019. My mother who will be joining us on our trip broke her hand 2 days ago(8-7-2019). Doctor said she will be in a cast for 5 weeks. Which will be in during out time. Will she be able to still ride, rides?

    chEARs Amber,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am so sorry your mom broke her wrist! That's no fun. But I'm super glad to hEAR that the doctor has given the "all clEAR" for her to join you at Walt Disney World! Disney is committed to providing all of its Guests, regardless of age or ability with a fantastic experience, so I'm sure she is going to have a magical time.

There are so many attractions that your mom will enjoy in spite of her broken wrist! Honestly, she will be able to enjoy the majority of attractions. She will love floating on Na'vi River Journey and experiencing the magic of Pandora - The World of Avatar. She can hurtle down a mine train at Magic Kingdom Park, and sing "yo ho yo ho, the pirate's life for me!" on Pirates of the Caribbean. At Epcot, she can soar around the World with ease, and you all can play BIG and enjoy Slinky Dog Dash in Toy Story Land.

A few words of caution though, Toy Story Mania and Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin both require your hands to "shoot" at targets. If you all do a smuggler's run on the Planet of Batuu, there are a few positions in the Millennium Falcon that also require her to use her hands. I would alert the Cast Member at the front of the ride to see if she can be assigned to a more manageable position. There are also a few other attractions that have health advisories. These are for a variety of reasons, be they significant drops, loud noises, or bumpiness. Primeval Whirl, DINOSAUR, and Tower of Terror are rides that I would advise her to be careful as the jostling might be uncomfortable with her cast.

Amber, I hope your momma has a fantastic time! If she needs medical assistance or is worried about her hand, there are First Aid Centers in all four Theme Parks and the two Water Parks. In-room medical services are also available at Walt Disney World Resort hotels, and there are several Urgent Care Centers close to the Resort. I hope this trip is just what the doctor ordered!
