We've narrowed down our resort choices to either the Beach Club (2q & daybed) or 2 connecting rooms at the POFQ. We are a family of four, kids are 9&7 and refuse to share a bed. Any suggestions? Pros or cons? How much will we use the pool 12/1-12/

    Hi, MeLissa!

    Great question!

I just returned from a stay at Disney's Beach Club Resort, in a room with 2 beds and a daybed (2 kids who won't share, either ;-) ) and we absolutely loved it. The location of this resort is phenomenal if you plan to visit Epcot and / or Disney's Hollywood Studios often. Both are within walking distance, but you have the option of taking a boat from your resort at any time. We loved it!

My son and I stayed at Port Orleans last fall, though, and loved it, too. One benefit to having adjoining rooms, too, is that you'll have two bathrooms. That might be a good option for you, if you feel that the additional space would be worthwhile.

Regarding the pools, they are heated year-round, and you may come upon a warm spell when your kids will want to spend some time sliding and swimming. The average high in December, according to weather.com, is 72, plenty warm enough for kids from PA to enjoy a little pool time (we tend to swim when it reaches 70 in FL, while the locals are bundled up as if it's about to snow!)

In short, you'll enjoy both locations, but I'd consider the location perk of Beach Club against the extra space and added bathroom of Disney's Port Orleans, then decide which is more important to your family. Once you've chosen, you'll be all set to start planning your vacation!

Be sure to send more questions as you think of them, MeLissa! We love to help!
