We've been to MNSSHP many times and see costume guidelines have changed. My husband and 18 year old son are dressing as characters from the Incredibles. Masks are no longer allowed; can they use makeup to create a "mask" on their face?

What a SUPER costume, Jan! The original PIXAR heroes are very popular, especially since they have a film coming up… I’ve been dreaming of my “E” costume that I’m wanting to make.

You’re completely right that masks are not allowed for those over age 14 (and even for the youngster, must show their eyes) at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Makeup is a great alternative to masks, especially for the Incredibles! I’ve seen “Sadness” walking around from Inside out with full blue face paint, and ghastly ghouls from The Haunted Mansion in white and gray paint. It may be very hot, so and eyemask of paint is a great idea. I recommend a drying face paint that’s meant for children, so it is less likely to run and drip, but instead dry to the touch.

For a little fun rendition of the costume guidelines, watch this Disney Parks Blog Animated Short. It’s a great visual. I hope you don’t encounter Syndrome on your trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth, and if you do, be strong and have a frightfully good time anyway! My top tip for enjoying the party? Get there a little early to check in and make your way through the party prep area, so you can enjoy the atmosphere right as it sets in. The announcements and lighting really are fun to see! ~ Lindsey P.
