We've had magicbands before and my kids do not want them, they like their iwatches. But I would like a magicband. Do I have to order one for each family member or may I just get one for myself, and is all of our info still linked on the one magic band?

Hi there Jessica!  Welcome to planDisney.

There are several ways for Guests to access admission and information linked to their My Disney Experience account, so let's chat about some options for you.

If you still have your MagicBands from a previous visit, you are welcome to reuse them.  Battery life is estimated to be about 2 years.  Bands older than that should still work at any touchpoints, such as entrance tap styles, Lightning Lane entrances, and point-of-sale terminals, although long-range features such as automatically linking your on-ride Disney PhotoPass photos may no longer work.

If you have an upcoming stay at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel and you would like to only order a MagicBand for yourself, you are absolutely welcome to do that.  For any of the Guests in your party who are not interested in ordering a new MagicBand, use the My Disney Experience drop-down menu in the upper right corner of the website to go to "My MagicBands and Cards" and select "Get Started".  Choose the "Select" button under their name and then "Decline a New MagicBand".  Repeat the process for each Guest in your party.  A MagicBand that you select for yourself will be linked to your individual profile and any reservations and tickets that are linked to you under "My Plans".  A single MagicBand cannot be used to access multiple Guests' admission.

If other members of your party will not have a MagicBand, they can create a Disney MagicMobile pass and save it to the digital wallet on their mobile device.  A Disney MagicMobile pass will have much of the same functionality as a MagicBand.  Another option would be to pick up plastic ticket cards at any Guest Relations location or the Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs.

Jessica, I hope I have fully addressed your questions.  If you have additional questions or need more information, please feel free to write back.  Wishing you a wonderful vacation!
