We've made a reservation at Hollywood Studios to do the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Custom Astromech Units. For traveling purposes (home, via plane) we were wondering what the average size is for the units? I'm sure they vary. Thanks!

    Bright suns, Brittany!

Welcome to planDisney, the most magical place in the galaxy! I am so glad you got a reservation to build your own droid at the Droid Depot, as every Jedi requires an astromech sidekick. Plus, they allow you to bring some Disney magic home, which, in my opinion, is the best way to cure post-Disney blues!

There are two types of droids available at the droid depot: BB-Series and R-Series. The BB-Series are slightly smaller as they measure approximately 10 inches tall and are about 7 inches wide. Since they have an antenna, they are about 12 inches tall in total. The R-series, however, are a bit wider at 8.5 inches and taller at 12 inches, as they also include side legs. Either way, you will be given a carrying case that is 11 inches in width and depth, and 18 inches in height, which you can use should you want to bring your droid with you as your personal item on the plane.

If you want any other souvenirs or intergalactic pals, don't forget to stop by the Black Spire Marketplace! The Creature Stall is perfect should you wish to bring back one of the many curious animals that can be found on Batuu. Still, you can also find smaller souvenirs at the Toydarian Toymaker or Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities! I got a tiny tauntaun keychain while on my last visit, and it is probably one of my favourite souvenirs I've ever gotten at a Disney park. You truly never know what you will find in those curious shops!

I hope this was helpful, Brittany, and that you will have the most magical vacation on your next trip to planet Batuu. If you have any other questions in the time leading up to your visit, please don't hesitate to reach back out. We are always happy to help fellow members of the resistance!

May the force be with you,
