We've been to Disney World several times in the last 6 years and stayed in the Pop Century. We currently have reservations at the Caribbean Beach but are unsure if we should switch to Wilderness Lodge. It's a party of 12 - ages of kids: 16, 12, 10, 4

Hi Maria, Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel!

If it is an option for you financially, I would definitely switch to the Wilderness Lodge. See: HERE. While I have not stayed there personally (yet), I have spent time exploring the Resort and it's surroundings. It is stunning. In addition, it is a peaceful boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom and the monorail to Epcot.

I have, however, stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort. While the food court is nice and the main pool is fun, the Resort itself is very large. By design, the buildings are very spread out and can be a considerable distance from both the Guest Services/Check In area and the Food Court/Main Pool area. These are both in separate places, and if your room is located far away, it can be up to a 10 minute walk from both of these areas. The Caribbean Beach actually has an Internal shuttle to get you from place to place inside the Resort because it is so large. Contrarily, the Wilderness Lodge is contained in one beautifully themed area. In addition, you would be close to Fort Wilderness, which the kids may enjoy. The older children can rent Sea Raycers from the marina at the Fort. See HERE.

I have several friends who rate the Wilderness Lodge as their favorite Resort, including fellow Panelists Kathie F. and Bernie E. here on the Moms Panel. If you have any specific questions regarding the Wilderness Lodge, please feel free to ask them. Click HERE for Kathie and HERE for Bernie.

Hope this helps and that you enjoy your vacation!
