    We've decided that our next (and sadly last trip for a LOOONG time) will be Dec 6th-13 2014! My question is when should I book and should I book directly thru Disney? This will be our first time staying in the park!

    Hello Cheryl!  It sounds like you have a very magical vacation to look forward to next year!  Focus only on making this the best vacation ever - not that you won't be back for a long time.  You can go ahead and book your vacation any time now - this will insure that your choice of resorts is available, as that week at Walt Disney World does tend to book up.  While you will book at the full package price right now, rest assured that if an offer comes up for discounts or free dining during your visit, you will be able to amend your reservation to take advantage of these, provided it is more than 45 days prior to your arrival.

    As far as whether or not to book directly through Walt Disney World, that is strictly up to you.  One of the advantages to this is that if any changes are required or wanted, you can call them directly and make the changes.  If you book through a travel agency, they will have to make those calls on your behalf. Many travel agencies do offer booking incentives for Walt Disney World vacations, so if you have or know of a travel agency that you trust and preferably specializes in booking Walt Disney World vacations, so long as you are comfortable with them, go right ahead and do it that way.  Another advantage to booking this way, is that if a discount offer does come up for your dates, hopefully they will let you know and get you those savings!
