We've never been to the Boardwalk area and would like to visit it during our upcoming trip in December. What are some kid friendly restaurants and activities? Also, are there any special Holiday events that take place in the Boardwalk area?

    Hi Amy,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  I love Disney's BoardWalk.  My family enjoys this area so much that we chose Disney's BoardWalk Villas as our home resort with Disney Vacation Club!  We have a 9-year-old daughter, and she has spent many vacations there.  Let me share some of the fun activities that we like to do at Disney's BoardWalk.

You can rent a surrey bike on Disney's BoardWalk.  Then pile the whole family into the bike and pedal around Crescent Lake.  Just be sure that everyone helps to pedal - I have learned the hard way that being the only person in a surrey bike pedaling is hard work!  A simple stroll at Disney's BoardWalk is also fun.  There are midway-type games along the way to play, and at night, kid-friendly entertainers such as jugglers perform.  We have eaten at almost all of the restaurants on Disney's BoardWalk with our daughter.  ESPN Club is a fun atmosphere, with televisions showing sporting events.  We also like to go to Big River Grille & Brewing Works.  Even though it is a brewing works, it is completely appropriate for children and has good food.

Disney's BoardWalk Inn will be beautifully decorated for the holidays.  In the lobby there is typically an amazing holiday display made of edible materials.  This is also true for the other resorts around Crescent Lake.  My family enjoys taking a walk from resort to resort to see the great displays at Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts as well.  I suggest that you keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for any announcements about special holiday activities.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Amy!  Have a wonderful time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
