We are are staying at the Floridian Sept 9 - 14. We are not renting a car, so wondered what the best option is in terms of getting necessities/groceries to our hotel room (bottled water, milk, cereal,etc.)...do stores deliver, or do we take a cab to store

Hi Beth! All of the Disney resorts will have a store at their location that will include some of the basic food items that you might need such as milk, cereals, water, juices, and more. This would be the most convenient way for you to purchase the food items for your room. Please remember that the refrigerators are quite small so don't buy gallon size containers and try to fit all the perishables in at once. It is best to buy small sizes and buy often.

There is another option for groceries and that is a delivery company. I have used and like gardengrocer.com. This is mainly when I have stayed at the Fort Wilderness cabins or one of the Villas where you have full size kitchen facilities. They offer many more brands and foods then the resort stores but there will be a minimum for every order.  If you are traveling with infants this is a good way to purchase diapers, formulas, baby food, and other necessities versus packing and bringing it all with you

I would not rent a car for this purpose.  Either of the above options should be fine for your needs during your trip and the extra expense of renting a car can be used for some fun things in the parks!
