We'regoing to WDW in Oct '08. We will be staying at the Carribean Resort. Is there a particular building to request? We would like to be close to the Old Port Royale Pool & to be able to see any fireworks or light shows from the theme parks.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort! It is a sprawling resort so requesting a particular building can be very helpful to making the most of your stay.

For rooms closest to Old Port Royale’s themed pool, you’ll want to ask for a Preferred Room in the Martinique or Trinidad North village buildings. These rooms will cost extra.

We stayed in a Jamaica building. The walk to Old Port Royale was beautiful although tiring at the end of a long day.

Here are some ideas for viewing the fireworks:
You will see Epcot’s Illuminations fireworks between Old Port Royale and the Martinique building. Go to the beach near the food court and let the kids play in the sand while waiting for the show to start.

Some guests enjoy a late dinner or evening snack while watching the fireworks from an outdoor table. You can see the fireworks from the Aruba section.

Building 31 in Trinidad North (room 3135) would allow you to see from the outdoor walkway outside your room. You can see the fireworks from some hammocks on the beach. The beach near Martinique is a good location.

You’ll be seeing the higher fireworks (and hearing all of them) but the full Illuminations show is best seen from World Showcase in Epcot.
