Hi! I went to WDW last September, and I plan to go back next August. I have the 1st version of the MagicBand, do you know if I can use it again since there's the 2nd one now? Thank you!

    Hi Juliana,

Thanks for stopping in at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. While the MagicBand has been redesigned this year to feature a flatter, wider face that is removable to wear on a lanyard or carabiner, the original design of the MagicBand is still functional.

I've got two of the new designs and a drawer full of the original design and have been alternating them this year, depending on what color I want to wear and which style I happen to have in my tote bag I always carry to Walt Disney World.

The batteries were designed to last at least two years, so you can continue using the MagicBands you already have for a good while. If you book another stay in a Walt Disney World resort, of course, you'll have the opportunity to receive complimentary new MagicBands if you wish.

Please check back with us again, Juliana, if we can answer any other questions for you. We're always happy to share our experiences with other guests. Enjoy!
