Went to WDW January last year and had a blast but Splash Mountain was closed. We want to go again this year but don't want to miss out on it. Any idea how to find out if it will be open? Thanks!!

    Hi Amanda,

Even though we all know it's necessary, it can be a bit of a bummer when a favorite attraction is closed during your vacation.  I just checked the calendar for January, and it looks like you're in luck.  As of right now, Splash Mountain IS NOT scheduled to be shut down.

Of course, schedules are subject to change.  I recommend checking back before your trip, just so you don't end up surprised.  It's easy to find out which attractions are closed.

    • Go to www.disneyworld.com
    • Access the PARKS drop down menu
    • Select Park Hours
    • At the top of the page will be a box titled "View Hours for 10 Days Beginning:" - enter the beginning date of your vacation
    • The hours for 10 days will be listed for each park.  At the bottom of the list for each park there will be a message indicating attractions that are closed for refurbishment.  For example: I typed in 10 days beginning January 1, 2011.  At the bottom of the Hollywood Studios section, there is a message saying Star Tours is closed for refurbishment from 9/8/10 - 5/16/11.
Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!
