When we went to WDW a few years ago with a wheelchair, I was asked where my registration tag was. I had to wait additional time to get into shows, etc. I think the tag was yellow. Do I need to register in 2012? Where do I? Can I do it ahead of trip?

Hi Pete. It sounds to me like you might be talking about the Disney Guest Assistance Card. They have revamped their system and guests with mobility issues do not need to pick up a card now. When you approach an attraction simply let the cast member out front know you will need assistance. They will want to know if you can move from your wheelchair to a ride vehicle. Some attractions are not set up to take wheelchairs so you might have to miss those but most have special cars that adapt to wheelchairs. I took my mother last year and although she can move in and out it is very slow and was much safer for her to remain in her chair. You will usually enter through a different entrance and you will be required to wait as the other guests as they can't give preference. If an attraction uses the Fast Pass System it is suggested that you also get that Fast Pass to speed up your wait time. You should have no difficulty and no registration is required. You can rent a park wheelchair or bring your own since those can't be removed and taken back to the resorts. There are also many good companies in the area that you can rent from and they will drop off and pick up at your resort. Hope you have a great vacation!
