Well hello there, Jennifer. When it comes to MagicBands, I've got you. Let's get your question answered.
In short, we're going to learn from
my mistake. I was in a similar situation as you a few years back, but I just shrugged my shoulders, thought everything would be good, and did nothing more about it. But alas, I arrived at my
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel with no new MagicBand waiting for me because,
unlike you, I didn't reach out for help. So, don't be like me. And since you've asked for help here at planDisney, you're already on the right track! Let's get this settled.
If you've booked a qualifying vacation package, you'll log into your MyDisney account and select "
My MagicBands and Cards" from the My Disney Experience dropdown menu. Once there, you'll click the blue "Get Started" button and then click the blue "Select" button under the first Guest for whom you are ordering. Once you've selected a MagicBand for them and personalized it, you'll press the blue "Complete" button. But wait, there's more! Repeat this process for all Guests, including ones who may not want a MagicBand. For them, you'll press the "Select" button, click "Decline a MagicBand," and then select "Decline Pre-Arrival Offer" on the next screen. Once you've completed the process for
all Guests on your reservation, you'll then see a blue "Proceed to Checkout" button. Follow the prompts to complete the transaction.
Phew! I'm glad we got that taken care of. Just note that once the order has been finalized, you cannot change your selections. And yes, this means that if a Guest changes their mind about declining, it cannot be undone. If they want one, they will have to purchase a MagicBand at a
merchandise location at the resort or through
shopDisney without the pre-arrival discount. But as long as you follow these steps, and don't give up like I did, you'll be scanning into the theme parks, watching your
MagicBand+ light up with the
nighttime spectaculars, and simply sporting a brand-new and fun accessory around the
Walt Disney World Resort in no time!
Jennifer, enjoy your visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth during the not-so-scary season! If you have any other questions, MagicBand or otherwise,
I'm here for you.
Oh, and I can't let a
Halloween season question go by without throwing in the Foodie Guides to all the seasonal treats that will likely be available at the
resort hotels and
Magic Kingdom Park (some exclusive to
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party) while you're there. Since I won't be able to get there for Halloween this year,
someone's got to eat my share of the snacks! And I nominate
you!
Being normal is vastly overrated,
Matt
