If I went to the park this weekend in used my to ticket, can I still upgrade to a magic key on the 25th?

    Hi, Daniel!

Welcome, and thank you for bringing this great question to planDisney. Hooray, your weekend visit to the Happiest Place on Earth will be here before you know it!

I can’t wait to step into the magic of the theme parks more often with the help of a Magic Key pass! You might be able to upgrade your existing theme park ticket to a new pass, depending on a few factors. If it is a non-promotional ticket that still has at least one valid day left after your weekend visit, it can be used as credit toward the purchase of a pass when they become available on August 25. However, please keep in mind that promotional tickets, including the ones currently available to California residents, cannot be upgraded to a Magic Key pass. Also, most theme park tickets are only valid for 13 days after the first day they are used, so think carefully about that timeline in relation to when you would be visiting the parks next and then when you'd be able to upgrade to a Magic Key, either on or after August 25.

I hope that you’re able to unlock the magic soon, Daniel! Please come back with any other Disneyland Resort questions you have as you continue making your theme park plans.

    Wishing you magic,
