When we went to DW last May while checking in I saw some people getting balloons and pins. We are going in April and it will be my sons 4th bday I want to make this so special and want him to get all the little extras. How do I get stuff like that?

    Hi there Tara,

Birthdays are especially magical in Walt Disney World.  4 years old, what a wonderful age, you will have so much fun!  When you check into your Disney Resort make sure your son is up, sitting on the counter as he will be able to experience the magic of Disney right from the start of your vacation. The cast member will then treat your little one with certain things like balloons, sometimes pins, stickers, coloring sheets, crayons and be sure to ask for a magazine for kids (they have on hand most of the time) called "Disney Adventures".  This magazine is small enough for his tiny hands to hold and feature all the latest news from Disney including comics and very colorful pictures.  I know he is only four, but he will feel special for receiving it, even if just to browse the pictures!

Make sure to let the front desk know what day during your stay he will be celebrating his birthday and more than likely they will ask you what his favorite character is.  Then if at all possible, they will have balloons and maybe a signed card with a picture of the one character that is super special to him, sent to your room (compliments of Tinkerbell!) on his special day.  One more thing, don't forget to pick up a "Happy Birthday"pin at Guest Services as you enter any of the theme parks as he will also receive special attention in the parks from cast members.

    Have a great time.
