Hello, Sharon! Welcome to planDisney!
I hope your recent visit to Disneyland Resort was practically perfect in every way! Although I'm sorry to hear someone in your travel party was not able to enjoy the trip with you, I still have some recommendations to share with you about the use of the remaining ticket!
First, the "1 day remaining" on your ticket typically means that you have purchased a 1-day ticket that is valid for one single day use up until its expiration date. If your 1-day ticket has not yet been scanned for use, then you will have one day of admission remaining on that particular ticket. If you purchased a multi-day ticket, and it was previously used, then "1 day remaining" would mean that your ticket has one day of admission that remains to be used. However, multi-day tickets expire 13 days after they are first scanned for use, so be sure to keep this in mind.
I also want to share that a standard theme park ticket does not actually get assigned to a Guest until they scan it at the turnstiles to enter a Disneyland Resort theme park. At that time, a photo is taken of the Guest and that ticket is officially assigned to them. However, if you wish to formally reassign the name on the ticket, you will need to call the Tickets line or initiate a chat in the Disneyland mobile app to speak with a Cast Member who can help you make this change. Typically, they will ask to speak with the original purchaser of the ticket, and I recommend that you have your ticket ID number or email confirmation on hand so that you can reference it during this process.
Alternatively, your Guest who was not able to make the trip with you may be able to reschedule a theme park reservation for a later date in the future. They can simply link their ticket to their Disney account and secure a park reservation for a date that works best for them. You can verify the expiration date on the ticket by reviewing the original email confirmation you received at the time of purchase, however, most 1-day tickets purchased this year will be valid for use through December 30, 2024. I also recommend reaching out to Guest Services if you are unable to view or confirm the expiration date on your ticket because they can look up any terms and conditions applicable to your ticket purchase. You may also be able to inquire about the option to apply the value of your wholly unused ticket toward the future purchase of a ticket of equal or greater value.
I hope this is a helpful start toward making arrangements for your unused ticket. There are many options, and I hope you will still be able to find a way to unlock some magic awaiting you at Disneyland Resort in the near future! There are so many wonderful limited-time offerings as a part of the Disney100 Celebration that are simply not to be missed! If we can help with anything else in the meanwhile, please come back and see us again here at planDisney!
Wishing you Wondrous Journeys,
