    Hi Briana, welcome to planDisney!

The magic of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is calling. The planDisney panelists recently gathered our Top 22 in 2022 and we'd love to help you plan your visit during The World's Most Magical Celebration

I understand you used a MagicBand when visiting Walt Disney World in 2019. At that time, it sounds like your plans were managed by a friend under his My Disney Experience account, but you have since created your own account. MagicBands are non-transferable, meaning they can't be reassigned to a different person, but I believe you are just trying to move the MagicBand linked to you in another person's account to your account. Here are the steps you and your friend need to take for the vacation entitlements linked to you on his account, including your MagicBand, to migrate to your account:

    Online
    1. Have your friend log in to his My Disney Experience account and access his Family and Friends list
    2. To the right of your name on this list, he should click "Update."
    3. Next, he should click "Share Planning with Briana."
    4. He then enters the email address associated with your My Disney Experience account, which sends you an email invitation to connect.
    5. Finally, click the green "Accept" button in your email invitation and your MagicBand should automagically be transferred to your Disney account.
    6. Repeat the same steps for the other member(s) of your party.

In the My Disney Experience mobile app
    1. Have your friend log in to his My Disney Experience mobile app.
    2. Next, he should click the three small lines at the bottom of his home screen and scroll down to "My Profile."
    3. He then clicks "Family and Friends List."
    4. He now clicks on your name and "Send Email" at the bottom.
    5. Finally, he enters the email address associated with your My Disney Experience account.
    6. As above, click the green "Accept" button in your email invitation and your MagicBand should automagically be transferred to your Disney account.
    7. Repeat steps as needed.

The battery life of MagicBands is reportedly two years, though I've been using mine for over three years with no problem. Should you need a plan B, new MagicBand styles are available at retail stores throughout Disney property such as Disney Pin Traders in Disney Springs. Other methods of park entry include admission cards, available at ticket windows located outside the theme park entrances, and MagicMobile passes, which essentially turned my Apple Watch into a MagicBand during a recent visit. In addition to a method of entry, valid admission and a park pass reservation are currently required for park entry.

    Plan magic; planDisney.
