Hey there Gilsa,
Welcome back to planDisney and thanks so much for this great question! I'm so happy to hear you're planning to make new magical memories at the Happiest Place on Earth with your Mouseketeer.
Disney Parks have a deep commitment to providing a welcoming, inclusive environment and I've seen Cast Members around the Disneyland Resort work hard to offer accessible experiences for Guests. One of the most helpful resources that I would highly recommend looking into for you and your son is the
Disability Access Service (DAS).
This is separate from
Disney Genie+ Service (with Lightning Lane access), but does function similarly in that - while it doesn't provide immediate access to experiences - it allows Guests to request a return time for a specific experience that is comparable to the current standby wait.
I would suggest pre-registering through
DAS Advance, which you would need to do between 30 and 2 days prior to your visit. With DAS Advance, you'll book a live video chat with a helpful Cast Member who can walk you through the process and discuss eligibility.
In addition to DAS, the Disneyland Resort website has a really great
resource hub and guides for Guests with disabilities. I also specifically wanted to call out that
Mickey's Toontown, which was newly reimagined earlier this year, is incredibly accessible and fun for kids of all ages. One of my favorite aspects of this fresh update is the green space park area in the back corner of the land, which has lower volume, soothing music, shaded seating, and is a great place to get a calming break.
Thanks again for your question, Gilsa! I hope you and your Mouseketeer have such an amazing trip to the Disneyland Resort.
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
