    Went will the dining Lans be available again. I would hope soon as Disney encourages cashless payments and this would be a huge help in that if people had dining plans to use.

    Hello, William. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.

    My family and I also have really enjoyed the Disney Dining Plan over the years. It was nice to have every aspect of a vacation paid for before actually visiting. It took a lot of pressure off and it was fun to be able to order the most expensive menu item without even batting an eye. William, I haven't heard any news of the Disney Dining Plans returning anytime soon. Because so many of the Walt Disney World restaurants are still closed due to capacity limitations, I would think it would be hard to support the demand for the Disney Dining Plan at this time. Because we haven't heard anything yet, I'd be surprised if the Disney Dining Plan returns to us this year. Disney likes to give plenty of notice for these things and I think the fact that we haven't heard anything yet leaves me thinking we are looking at 2022 at least. Of course, this is all speculation and I don't really have anything to base my opinion on other than non-official things I read online. When the announcement is made, however, we will be able to find it and all of the details regarding what it will entail over on the Disney Parks Blog. 

    Until then, if you are wanting to prepay for food before your vacation, I suggest grabbing a Disney gift card and putting money aside on it each week until your vacation. That way, the money is out of your bank account and on to something that has to be used during your vacation. It's similar to the Disney Dining Plan in that way because the money is already gone from your account. Disney gift cards can be used almost anywhere at Walt Disney World and each gift card can hold up to $1000.00.  At mobile ordering only locations, you are able to enter your gift card information to use instead of using the credit card you have on file and still keeps things cashless. 

    William, I have my fingers crossed that an announcement is made soon regarding the Disney Dining Plan. It's hard being in limbo and not really knowing what to expect for future Walt Disney World vacations. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to come back and ask me.

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
