Hi Anna,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question, my fellow Canadian!
First things first, you’ll be happy to know that there are absolutely no weight or size restrictions for
Nav’i River Journey at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. My little guy is a bit of a scaredy cat who doesn’t like thrilling attractions (yet!) and he absolutely loves floating through that attraction. It’s a wonderful way to experience Pandora’s bioluminescence, even during the daytime.
As for
Avatar Flight of Passage, although there are no specific weight restrictions, I’ve seen that the ride system unfortunately can’t accommodate Guests of all shapes and sizes, yet. Based on my experience, the place where the locking mechanism seems to have the most difficulty is with a person’s calves, either because they’re on the bigger side or because they can’t bend their knees at the right angle.
My advice to you would be to try the ride vehicle that is located outside of the attraction’s entrance. Even if you’re more “pooh” sized, there’s a very good chance that you’ll still be able to experience flying through Pandora on the back of a banshee. If you can’t find the “tester” ride vehicle, or if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to ask one of the Cast Members located at the attraction’s entrance for assistance.
I hope my answer helps you plan your visit to
Pandora: The World of Avatar! Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
