I had weight loss surgery and can't eat much. Is it permissible to share a plate with my spouse?

It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Aileen!

Dining is one of my favorite things to do at Walt Disney World Resort and one of the best parts of planning what meals you're going to enjoy on vacation is knowing that there is a lot of flexibility when it comes to what you can eat. Disney is committed to making sure that all guests can enjoy a great meal regardless of dietary requirements or preferences and every effort is made to fulfill any requests that you make at the time of booking.

If you want to split an entrée with someone at a Quick-Service or Table-Service dining location, that is perfectly fine. I'm a foodie and I want to try everything on every menu, so I often find myself splitting entrées with the people I'm dining with so I can try more things. In fact, my fellow Panelist, Anne Marie, and I were recently having dinner at Grand Floridian Cafe at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and when we asked to split the Heirloom Apple Salad, the kitchen prepared it for us already split onto two separate plates so we didn't have to do it ourselves! I thought that was a great idea and really excellent service, so feel free to ask if you can have your entrée split up before it's brought out to you. There are a few dining locations, like buffets, family-style meals, or Character Dining experiences, that require everyone who is sitting at the table to pay the listed price for the meal, but you are still welcome to split plates or eat as much or as little food as you like.

I hope this answers your question, Aileen, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
