Greetings, Vicky, and welcome to planDisney! I’m so glad you’re here!
The
Walt Disney World Resort does a wonderful job ensuring the
attractions at
all four theme parks are comfortable and accessible for Guests of all shapes and sizes. So, I’m happy to report that there isn’t a weight limit for
Avatar Flight of Passage. However, according to the Avatar Flight of Passage attraction page, the seating and restraints may prohibit Guests of certain body shapes or sizes from riding. I’ve had the chance to experience this epic attraction several times, and I can tell you that the leg and back restraints that click in to place can feel a bit restricting, so if you have larger calves or carry most of your weight around your hips or stomach area, it may be a snugger fit for you. Thankfully, Walt Disney World thought ahead and placed a “test seat” outside near the entrance of the attraction, so you can figure out ahead of time if riding a banshee will be a comfortable experience for you. I recommend asking a Cast Member near the front of the attraction to direct you toward this “test seat” – they will be happy to answer any of your questions or concerns about this attraction and the overall experience!
The only other Guest Policies for this attraction are that Guests must be 44” or taller, in good health and free from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, and not experience motion sickness. In addition, expectant mothers are advised not to ride.
I hope this information helps you to experience Avatar Flight of Passage soon, Vicky! I’ll never forget my first time – my fellow planDisney Panelists loved watching my expression as my jaw dropped the entire time… I was in awe! I couldn’t stop smiling after the attraction was over, and I couldn’t wait to hop back on a banshee for another breathtaking 3D flight over
Pandora!
Wishing you the best of luck, Vicky! As the Na’vi say, “Sivako!” (Rise to the Challenge!)
