Hi Terrence! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney! Crowds aren’t for everyone. And the
Walt Disney World Resort can be a very crowded place at times. I’m happy to provide a few tips for visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth at times when it might feel a bit more, well, magical!
While there isn’t an exact science for crowd-level expectations, there are some historical trends that we can look to for crowd-level predictions. The lowest attendance periods usually take place immediately following the highest attendance periods. One of the best times to visit is from mid-August through the month of September (just avoid Labor Day weekend). This six-week period is probably one of the lowest attended times of the year. Many schools are back in session and attendance/crowds drop significantly from summertime visits. Another time that tends to see lower attendance is the middle of May. Keep in mind that crowd levels are subject to change based upon the calendar.
The times with the heaviest crowds are just about any holiday or any time that school is scheduled to be “off.” Think of things like Presidents Day, Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving, and times when schools and colleges typically have spring break.
Terrence, I hope this helps with your planning! Feel free to come back to
planDisney!
Dreams do come true!
