Hi, we're going in 2 weeks for a land & sea vacation and don't want to waste our one day at each park waiting in line for characters that we may get to see a lot of on the boat (the Dream.) Can we find out who's on the Dream so we can skip those lines

    Good thinking, Kristi!

You are a girl after my own heart.  You're more than just the vacation planner in your family -- you're the vacation strategist!

I love Disney Cruise Line vacations for many, many reasons, but unprecedented access to the beloved Disney characters is of my favorite aspects of sailing with Mickey.  You can usually count on seeing the Fab Five -- Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto. Plus, most of the princesses are on board -- such as Belle, Ariel, Cinderella, Tiana, Snow White and Aurora. We also tend to see the piratical types as well like Captain Hook, Mr. Smee and (blush) Captain Jack Sparrow. Aside from those characters, we've also seen many more, but they've been different ones based on the ship, the length of the cruise and the itinerary. (The longer you're at sea -- the more chances there are to see the characters.)

A safe "bet" on ones you usually don't see on board are the Pooh characters. So, a meal at Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom would be worth your while, and if you have really little ones, the characters of Disney Junior at Hollywood & Vine usually don't sail on Disney ships either.  In addition, Duffy the Disney Bear isn't sailing yet.  Some characters that you possibly will find on board are:  Chip n' Dale, Daisy, Peter Pan and Wendy,

I hope this helps you plan, and please let me know if you think of other questions before you sail.  I'm here for your "mom-next-door" Disney Cruise advice! Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
