The weekend after I get back from WDW, I'm driving down to Southern California to visit family. My grown autistic daughters want to visit CarsLand on July 5. How do you suggest I best plan the day? We won't be staying late; fireworks are too loud for them.

    Hi there Rochelle,

Cars Land is such an amazing sight to behold and the attractions are simply KaCHOW-mazing.  Since you'll be visiting in the wake of the 4th of July holiday, the parks could experience high crowd volume.  Be sure to arrive as early as possible, up to 30 minutes prior to park opening if possible.  This way, you'll be among the first to enter Disney California Adventure, therefore being among the first guests to enter the Cars Land area of the park.  Head straight over to Radiator Springs Racers... do not pass go, do not collect $200.  If you guys are quick, you could head straight into the standby queue before the queue times are elevated!

From there, you'll want to check out Luigi's Flying Tires and then my favorite, Mater's Junkyard Jamboree...but don't forget to take some time to check out the beautiful Cadillac Mountain Range and other breathtaking scenery along the way!  If your tummies are 'a grumblin' you could pick up a quick breakfast or snack from the Cozy Cone Motel or a more "filling" meal at Flo's V8 Cafe which looks just like it's Cars movie namesake!

You mentioned that your daughters are autistic. Disney  I highly recommend you visit guest relations upon entering the park and if you arrive early, they will let you in to that area before official opening.  Here, you can speak with a cast member who may be able to help you come up with a specially tailored touring plan that will help you guys have a most magical day.  Sometimes, this means providing a guest assistance card which may provide solutions, enabling your daughters to avoid factors that might hinder them from having the best day possible!

Please write back if I can provide additional information!
