If we are on the the deluxe dining plan, does one meal equal one character dining meal per paying child/adult? I know cinderella meals are 2 credits but we are looking at chef mickey or any with mickey minnie goofy. Or does it subtract cost per meal?

You will be pleased to know that most of the character dining experiences with Mickey, Minnie & Goofy use only one table-service meals per person on the 2012 Deluxe Dining Plan.
These are:
Chef Mickey's (Disney's Contemporary Resort)
Cape May Cafe (Disney's Beach Club Resort)
Garden Grill (Epcot)
'Ohana (Disney's Polynesian Resort)
Tusker House (Animal Kingdom theme park)

Mickey's Backyard Barbecue (Dinner Show at Fort Wilderness) uses two Table-Service meals per person.
