Hey there David, it's great to welcome you to planDisney!
I've been fortunate enough to have had hosted stays at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge recently, and we spent a lot of time basking in the pools at both Jambo House and
Kidani Village to compare the experience at both ends. Before our stay I also noticed that the Walt Disney World Resort website currently states that both "
Coin-operated lockers are available for $1.00 per use near Uzima Pool." but also that "
Locker rentals in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village are complimentary for all Guests." When I reached out to Guest Services to ask about the inconsistency they were however unable to verify this from their end, so thankfully as planDisney panelists have the ability to research and check these things out in person - so I took the opportunity to have a look for myself:
- When I ventured down to the Uzima Springs Pool, I asked the Cast Members where the lockers were located and was pleasantly surprised to discover that these were along the wall just outside of Pumbaa’s Fun and Games Arcade located just beyond The Mara. Based on my personal experience from this past month, none of these lockers required coins and were instead keyless; they only required the use of a four-digit combination that guests would be able to set oh their own and use free of charge. This was the same for the lockers on the way leading down to the Samawati Springs Pool just adjacent to the Survival of the Fittest Fitness Center.
- A Cast Member with a blue Walt Disney Legacy Name Tag also pointed out that there were also complimentary lockers adjacent to the showers in the changing room of the Zahanati Massage & Fitness Center. (In our experience these seemed older and much larger than the lockers found outside but these were not coin-operated either and there were no Cast Members available during our visit to assist with keys so this is something to keep in mind if you're looking to store anything valuable.)
It's always important to remember that offerings and amenities at the
Disney Resort Hotels are always subject to availability and may change without prior notice, and I'm hoping that we'll see a very welcome refurbishment coming to some of these recreation spaces at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge! Hope this helps you out, David -
