We'd like to reserve a meal at Palo during our cruise, but I wasn't sure how to pick the best time to schedule this if we don't receive our rotational dining schedule until we board. Any advice?

    Ahoy Janna!

If my sleuthing powers are correct, I think you are sailing on the Disney Dream...YAY you! A Very Merrytime cruise to the Bahamas sounds delightful! Captain Mickey will take excellent care of you and your crew as you seek adventure on the high seas.

Palo is one of my absolute must do’s on Disney Cruise Line. Fabulous Northern Italian cuisine in a romantic atmosphere? Yes, please! Hint: order the chocolate soufflé and you’ll thank me later!

Since you won’t find out your rotational dining schedule until you receive your Key to the World cards, select a night to make a Palo reservation and book one once your advance booking window opens. Then you also want to contact a Disney Cruise Line Vacation Specialist to request a dining rotation that best aligns with your Palo booking. While your request is not guaranteed, it does help if you have it noted on your reservation. On a 3-night cruise on the Disney Dream, you will have Enchanted Garden, Animator's Palate, and Royal Palace as your rotational dining restaurants. Read the descriptions of each restaurant and earmark one as the restaurant you'd be willing to miss for your Palo night. Your dining rotation request should place that restaurant on the evening you've secured your Palo reservation.

Once you find out your assigned dining schedule at Check-In, you can always try to make a change to it. Once you board the ship, head to the designated spot for Palo reservations. The Disney Cruise Line Navigator app will tell you exactly where to go (usually one of the lounges or main dining rooms). Cast Members will let you know if they can accommodate your request.

Disney Cruise Line also traditionally holds some Palo reservations back for booking on embarkation day. So be sure to inquire about those if you are unable to snag a Palo reservation online in advance. Frankly, I think it's easier to already have a reservation in place than to use this method since you know this is an experience you'd like on your cruise.

Sending you all the pixie dust I can muster that you are able to secure a Palo reservation that aligns well with your dining rotation! "Be our guest" and come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel anytime if you have additional questions.

    Bon Appétit!
