We'd love to get our daughter's very first haircut at the Main Street Barber in MK. Do they do that? Even for little girls? Can you make a reservation? When is the best time of day to go?

A first haircut at the Harmony Barber shop is an unforgettable milestone indeed!  My then 13-month-old son had his first haircut there a number of years ago and I'm so glad that I put up with his overgrown locks until then.  Beverlene, the stylist who did the honors, was well-equipped to keep my son occupied while she clipped away.  They had bubbles, spinning light toys, books, and stickers on hand to distract the littlest Mickey fans during haircuts.  They even had Bambi playing on a nearby TV while we were there.  Once my son's curls had been cut down to size, we were given a certificate, a pair of "My 1st Haircut" Mickey ears, and a pouch of his trimmed blonde locks wrapped up with a sprinkle of pixie dust.  It truly is one of my most magical memories from that trip!

The Harmony Barber shop will gladly serve both girls and boys.  When we were there, they operated on a first-come first-serve basis and appointments were not available.  We stopped in around 4:00 on the afternoon of a Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and had a very short five minute or so wait.  I asked if afternoons were typically a slow time of day and was told that there really is no way to predict slow vs. busy times.  Apparently it changes from week to week, but sometimes fewer guests stop in during parade times.

I hope that I've given you some helpful information and that your daughter's 1st haircut proves to be a magical moment in your trip!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
