What's the weather usually like mid April? I'm guessing mid 20s, so we need layers, but it it usually dry? What I'm really hoping for is hot and sunny, but not so hot we keel over in the queues!

    Hi Tracy,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!  April is a lovely month to visit Walt Disney World.  My family often visits during April, and we find the weather to be quite nice - not as hot as it would be in the middle of summer, but certainly warm enough to enjoy being outside.  Also, Disney does a great job of keeping the queues covered and cooled, so for the most part, you should be comfortable while waiting for attractions.

When I am looking for information about the weather in Orlando, I visit the website weather.com.  The average high in Orlando in April is 28 degrees Celsius, and the average low is 16 degrees Celsius.  So yes, layers are a great idea, especially for the evening hours.  Overall April is not the rainiest month in Orlando, but we always prepare for rain.  There may be a passing shower in the afternoon or evening, but they tend to pass through and be over for the rest of the day.  On any day with a possibility of rain in the forecast, my family throws ponchos in our backpacks as we head to the theme parks.  They pack nice and flat, and then we are prepared if the rain does come.

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Tracy!  Have a wonderful time planning your trip, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
