Welcome Alice ~
Your trip is super close and I know you are too excited to sleep! I'm thrilled for you that you will be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort! I love visiting all of the Disney Parks but feel that the Disneyland Resort is amazing because Walt Disney was actually there. It was his dream come true and he walked among the Guests there. I know you will also love seeing how Walt Disney kept dreaming even bigger and how those visions came to life at the Walt Disney World Resort.
While I'm no meteorologist (nor do I play one on TV), the weather for Central Florida is typically a little cooler at the beginning of January. The average high temperature is in the low-70s and the average low is in the high-40s. January also tends to be a drier month averaging less than 3 inches of rain for the month unless there is some sort of unusual weather pattern coming through. Keep in mind that these are averages so be sure to check the local forecast before you finish your final packing.
I always recommend that you check the hour-by-hour forecast before heading out to the theme parks for the day and pack a poncho or umbrella if rain is heading that way. We always take a jacket to wear first thing in the morning when the temperatures are still cool. We are super glad that we have our jackets when the sun goes down and the temperatures start to drop, especially since the sun is setting earlier in the day now. I'm a southern girl and get cold easily so in addition to jackets, I bring sweatshirts, hats, gloves, and scarves. If you forget them, there are super cute ones available for purchase throughout the theme parks, Walt Disney World Resort hotels, and
Disney Springs.
Please feel free to visit us again with all of your planning questions. We will be hEAR for you until you embark on your pixie dusted trail!
Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
