How is the weather like for the first week of Aug? We will be in Miami at the end of July and is considering to extend the trip to WDW. But based on what we have read, it's going to be hot and humid with daily chance of storm in the summer. Is that true?

Hi Qing!  I am afraid what you have read and heard about Orlando weather in the summer is basically true. The temperatures are quite warm and humid and there is the daily risk of rain or thunder storms in the afternoon and early evening. Many guest find ways to enjoy their Disney days at this time of year and still talk about the fun they had.

Many attractions are inside ones offering air conditioning as a nice rest from the outdoor heat. Try to plan your park days where you will be doing the outdoor ones early in the morning. Noting that it might rain be sure and have a simple poncho that will allow you to get from one place to the next without a lot of rain gear and mess. The lines tend to diminish when it rains so it is actually a great time to stay in the parks to see more. Obviously if you are in the midst of a thunder storm you will want to find shelter yourself but you can always use that time to shop or see one of the Disney attraction movies.

The important thing to remember when it is hot is to take your time and keep your pace nice and slow. See what you can see and don't worry about the rest. It is not going to go anywhere anytime soon so you can plan on another visit to see what you might miss on this trip. Keep hydrated and enjoy the experiences that each park offers.
