Hello and welcome to planDisney, Sharntelle! Thanks for stopping by to ask me a question here.
Weather can be a concerning factor when planning a
Walt Disney World vacation because so many of the things to see and do are outside. With that being said, I don't typically even look at the forecast for when we visit. Most of the time, it is sunny and beautiful! The forecast oftentimes will call for rain each day, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. Normally, you may see an afternoon pop-up shower in the heat of the day but they only tend to last about 10 minutes or so. I like to plan a bulk of our days for the early morning and evening hours and that way an afternoon shower never really affects us too much.
The key to having fun no matter the weather is to prepare for it. I like to grab a few ponchos to throw in our park bag from the dollar store before I leave home. If you forget yours, no worries they will be for sale throughout the theme parks. You can also pack an umbrella but I find ponchos are easier to pack and carry around for the day. I also hate when my feet get wet while I'm wearing tennis shoes so if I think it might rain while we are out, I'll typically wear some sort of sandal so I won't be miserable.
If it does rain while you are at the
Walt Disney World Theme Parks there are some attractions to enjoy that will give you a little reprieve from the weather even while standing in the queue.

As for hurricanes, the current one Elsa will be long gone before your vacation later this month. Of course, something else could pop up but I wouldn't be too overly concerned about it. It doesn't seem like there is much activity out there at the moment. If a hurricane is set to impact your vacation, you can read all of
Walt Disney World's hurricane policies here.
I hope this helps you prepare a little bit better for your upcoming vacation. If you have any other questions before your trip, stop back by and
ask me. I'm happy to help!
Enjoy!
