Cruising to
Alaska is magical anytime of the year, but July is extra special as it is historically the warmest month of the year, and the days are long with sunsets after 9pm or later! What a fun time of year to travel to this beautiful state.
Temperatures will range from around highs in the 70's (F) to lows in the 40's (F). However, this is Alaska, so you need to be prepared for all temperatures, as well as wind and rain. Weather changes quickly, so my best advice is to dress in layers and be ready for a rainy start followed by an afternoon of sunshine.
When enjoying Port Adventures, take a backpack with a lightweight waterproof jacket. It will come in handy for those unexpected rain drops! If hiking, it can actually get a bit warm if the sun is out so plan ahead with plenty of water, and the ability to take off outer layers. When my family went to Alaska, we pretty much stayed in jeans, long sleeved T-shirts, hiking shoes, and always had baseball hats and sunglasses handy for any bright afternoons.
Evenings can be a bit chilly onboard, so pack a sweater or hoodie for late night strolls on deck. Alaskan cruises are very cruise casual, so no need to overpack fancy clothes. You might even find a nice afternoon that is perfect for some pool time. Pack your swimsuits and hopefully you will get a chance for a quick dip in the pool or hot tub. Your Disney Cruise Line ship will have full-service and self-service
laundry facilities if you run out of clean clothes!
You will find Alaska weather changes by the day, and even by the hour so just be prepared by
packing a bit of everything. Regardless of the weather, a cruise to Alaska is surely to be the vacation of a lifetime. Make the most of each day and book your
