I will be wearing a large hat for Dapper Day in April. Do any thrill rides in Epcot, MK and Hollywood Studios (ex. Soarin’, Big Thunder Road, Tower of Terror) have lockers that I can store my hat? Is it possible to wear a hat on these rides?

Welcome to planDisney Melinda! We are happy you stopped by and excited to help with your questions. I love a good park hat and I almost always wear one.

Most of the thrill rides at the Walt Disney World Resort ask that you remove your hat or any other loose articles for your safety and the safety of others. I have never worn any of my large Mickey golf hats to the park yet so my hats usually fit inside of my park bag. My recommendation would be to have a designated soft collapsible type bag just for your large hat and you'll always have no worry of it taking flight. There are lockers in the parks but unfortunately not at each attraction.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is hailed as "The Wildest Ride in the Wilderness" and would jostle loose most hats regardless of size. There's a particular goat that may be happy if it was lost around a certain turn. One of my park favorites and is always a must-do is Soarin' Around the World and while it is not a fast-moving ride you more than likely will be asked to remove your hat. Underneath each seat is a rather large storage space that may accommodate the size of your dapper headwear choice.

I hope this information has been helpful while preparing for your visit in April. If any other questions come up please stop by and ask us whatever is on your mind and we will be happy to help.

    Have a dapper day!
