Welcome to planDisney, Brandi, and thank you for your question! When my family visits the
Walt Disney World Resort for our vacation, we make every attempt to squeeze in a day at one of
Disney's Water Parks, our favorite being
Blizzard Beach because of Summit Plummet, but Humunga Kowabunga at
Typhoon Lagoon is a close second!
You will be happy to know that water shoes are allowed when visiting Disney's Water Parks, and are a great idea, especially on those hot summer days when the concrete can get a little warm. Please review the
Know Before You Go Dress Code policy for water parks before your visit, if your water shoes have buckles or zippers, they may not be allowed. Some of my planDisney friends have also let me know that there are times when Cast Members may ask guests to remove footwear and hold onto them for certain rides, but you can keep them on up until that point and put them right back on when the attraction is over. Guest Relations is conveniently located at the entrance of both parks if you need to speak to a Cast Member before entering the park as well!
I hope you enjoy your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World and to either Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, or both! And who knows, maybe we will bump into each other at the
Polar Pub, their Piña CoLAVAs are a personal favorite on a hot day!
Cheers,
Brent
