Hi Franchesca,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! This question brought a big smile to my face because my son has the cutest Mickey Mouse safari hat that he always wears in
Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and he looks so precious in it. I think Disney’s Animal Kingdom is the hottest of the Walt Disney World theme parks, and my family always brings our wide-brimmed hats and cooling towels when visiting that park.
As Scar sings in The Lion King: “be prepared!” I love that you’re thinking about sun protection during the three-hour
Wild Africa Trek. I have great news: hats are permitted on this tour, and I recommend one that fits your head snugly or has a strap so you don’t have to worry about it during the more adventurous parts of the trek. If you’ve registered for this tour, you should receive an email with attire suggestions, including prohibited items. You’ll need to wear closed-toed shoes, and it’s recommended that you wear shorts or well-ventilated pants, along with a cool shirt. Don’t forget the sunscreen!
I hope you have a WILD time on the Wild Africa Trek, Franchesca! Did you hear about the new Masai giraffe calves at Disney’s Animal Kingdom?
This heartwarming Disney Parks Blog article (including an adorable video)highlights the babies, their mommas, and the efforts being made worldwide to preserve this vulnerable species and care for giraffes. One of my very favorite things about visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom is learning about their conservation efforts and talking to the Cast Members there about the animals. I always learn something new!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
