    What to wear question... 3 & 7 yr old girls. which do you think will be more comfortable cotton clothes or their jean shorts? they love jeans but I am afraid of getting wet and then rubbing...what do you suggest?

    Hi Tammy,
    I have two daughters that are 8 and 11 years old and sometimes it is difficult to find the right clothes to wear especially when the temperatures fluctuate throughout the day.  I have found that wearing a skirt with leggings that you can take off and store in a backpack to be great.  We also use pants that zip off into shorts.  You can find them at many outdoor/adventure stores or check out the following website:  rei.com.  My older daughter loves wearing jean shorts so we have a discussion about that they will stay wet longer.  If it is the middle of summer, I wouldn't worry so much about that since it is so hot and this may help her stay cooler.  I usually stick with cotton in general versus jean material but will bring one or two pair of jeans shorts just in case.  We usually use performance shirts as well and really not a lot of tank tops because I am worried about them getting sunburned even if you are great at reapplying sunscreen every two to three hours.  We usually will bring hats to wear to protect their heads.  I hope this helps!
