Hello, Joan! Thanks for returning to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with another great question.
I am so excited that you will be attending
Mickey’s Halloween Party this fall! It is so much fun for the whole family and I love that you are already planning your costume. I read through the
costume guidelines and the
Park Rules and didn’t find anything specific that would prevent you from wearing the corset you describe. You are correct, though, that you will need to go through a security checkpoint and metal detector before entering the parks. I would alert the security personnel to the metal in your outfit and expect to experience extra security measures, like the use of the metal detector wand, before you are allowed into the Resort area.
As an alternative, I suggest that you change into your corset/costume once you are inside the parks. You can bring your costume with you in a bag that will be searched by security, but you won’t set off the metal detectors when you walk through. This might speed up the process considerably if your costume isn’t too involved to put on when you reach the parks.
Don’t forget that your Mickey’s Halloween Party ticket allows you entry to both parks up to three hours prior to the official start time of the party. So feel free to get the fun started early and I hope you have a wonderful time at the
Spookiest Place on Earth!
