Can we wear face shields instead of masks. I’m so claustrophobic! And when will there be shoes again? Why can’t they just limit the amount of people who watch the shows?

Welcome to planDisney, Christie! I'm so glad that I get to answer your questions today.

Face coverings have become a part of our world over the last few months and are currently mandatory in all public spaces at Walt Disney World Resort for every guest age two and above. Face masks must be made from at least two layers of breathable material, fully cover your nose and mouth, fit snugly against your face, and be secured with ties or ear loops. Face shields are not accepted as a substitute for an appropriate face mask, so make sure you have plenty of masks to use for the duration of your trip. These rules and specifications are being enforced, so guests without face masks will not be permitted inside the Theme Parks or Disney Springs and guests not wearing masks will be asked to leave and may be allowed to return with a proper face covering. Have you had a chance to check out the face masks for sale on shopDisney? They're made from comfortable, breathable material and come in dozens of Disney designs! These are the same masks available for sale inside the Theme Parks, so you might find that your collection grows a bit by the time your trip is over.

Christie, live performances are a huge part of my vacations and I can tell that they're really important to you and your family as well! I am confident that the day will come soon where we will be able to sit down in an audience together to enjoy the incredible talents of the performers at Walt Disney World Resort, but most live entertainment is not taking place at the Theme Parks right now. The safety of guests is very important, but so is the safety of the Cast Members who are involved in producing the shows we all love so much. Guests are able to watch comfortably from the audience while physically distant from each other, but it may not be possible to put on many of these amazing shows while keeping the performers and crew at a safe distance from one another. You will still be able to catch a glimpse of your favorite Disney Characters in the brand new cavalcades that are happening at each of the four Theme Parks, so keep your eyes and ears open because you never know when magic is just around the corner!

I hope this answers your questions, Christie, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation.
