Going to WDW and my 17 yr old wants to take a tour. She's a WDW fanatic and wants to work there as Alice one day. (She's an actress) We're worried that the BS Magic tour will take ride-time away but the Keys one will not offer much new info. Recomendation?

    Hi Diana,

I've never met your DD but she's a girl after my own heart! I've taken both the Keys to the Kingdom & Backstage Magic tours a couple of times & luv them both.

Keys to the Kingdom lasts approx 4.5 hours during which you discover how the MK was created & has grown. You'll hear stories & learn about the details that most park Guests walk by without noticing. You get to visit the utilidors which is a tunnel system under the MK. Even if you've read the books & know the info, its still cool to see it first hand & anyone who truly loves Disney, will love this tour.

BSM lasts approx 7 1/2 hours & takes you Backstage at all 4 theme parks as well as Central Shops (where they create everything from signs to parade floats & attraction vehicles) to the horticulture department . You'll visit the wardrobe department which I think your DD will love! If she becomes Alice, this is where they'll make her dresses. This tour also includes a visit to the utilidors.

Both tours are awesome but because your DD wants to work at Disney, I think she'd truly enjoy taking the BSM tour to see where & how it all comes together. It may indeed cut into some of her ride-time, but it is an experience like no other & she'll walk away ready to head to Casting.

BSM is offered M - F. Cost is $224.00 + tax. Theme park admission is not included nor required. Keys to the Kingdom is offered 7 days a week. Cost is $70 + tax. MK theme park admission is required and not included in the price of the tour.

To book either of these tours, call 407-WDW-TOUR. If you have a Chase Disney Visa Rewards Card or are an Annual Passholder be sure to mention that when booking for a discount.  Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
