We have been going to WDW for years and I finally felt like I had the majority of things figured out. Now there are the Magic Bands and I have no idea how to use them and there is Memory Maker. Can you explain how to use the bands? What is Memory Maker?

    HI Kristie,

You have to give it to Walt Disney World; they are always surprising their Guests with new and interesting innovations! The new MagicBand system is such a great addition to the Walt Disney World Resort experience. I know you'll remember the Key To The World cards. Well, the MagicBands are just a wearable form of those cards with a few key additions. You can use it to open your resort room, purchase items in the resorts and parks, and deduct from your dining plan. You will also be able to use the new FastPass+ system, booking your FastPass selections weeks before you even arrive at the Resort. I love that with just a tap of my wrist, "Mickey to Mickey," I can get into my favorite rides, pay for meals and enter my room after a fun day hopping through the parks. It's also an instant souvenir!

Memory Maker is just as exciting. You get digital copies of all photos taken at Disney PhotoPass locations and you're able to share them with friends and family. No more purchasing photos individually! Also, with just a tap of your MagicBand, or the MagicBand of anyone in your party, any pictures taken will be added to your Memory Maker account, which is integrated into your My Disney Experience. The coolest part is you all don't have to be together to save these pictures. If people in your party decide to hop over to another park without the rest of the group, and want to save the pictures taken there, all they'll have to do is tap their MagicBands and they're saved.

Digital downloads will be available up to 45 days from when pictures are taken, but the downloads are unlimited up until that date.

If you have any more questions before your vacation, please feel free to ask us at any time.

Have a fantastical Disney day, Kristie!
