We were just at WDW and had a wonderful time. We were able to get into the Droid depot and the grandkids built 3. The R2D2 model though is having a wheel issue with one leg. The wheel stopped turning so the droid only go to the one side. Help please

    Bright Suns Deborah,

Welcome to planDisney! I’m so happy to hear that you and your grandchildren recently had a wonderful time at Walt Disney World Resort. Walt Disney World is one of my favorite places in the entire world, and it makes me so happy every time I am there. Part of the reason I joined planDisney is to help Guests have incredible vacations, so it warms my heart when people have a great time!

How awesome is Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge?! It is so immersive and incredible! I’m a little biased, but R-series Droids are my favorite kinds of droids, so I’m happy to hear you all were able to build one during your visit! I’m so sorry to hear that one of your R-series droids is not operating as desired. We definitely need to get that fixed ASAP so that your grandchild can have a fully functioning droid.

I’ve taken a look at the R-series unit instruction manual, and it does not outline a troubleshooting option for you to repair the wheel. I recommend seeing if you can get a replacement part (or another solution) for the Droid through Mail Order Merchandise. A Cast Member in this area can be reached by phone at 1-877-560-6477 or by email at merchandise.guest.services@disneyparks.com. They should be able to advise you on the next steps and figure out a solution to the wheel issue. Please note that they are available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST, Monday to Friday, if you reach out via phone. Before you make the call or send the email, be sure to gather as much information as you can about your R-Series Droid, including the date of assembly, receipt details, and a description of the problem. The more information they have, the better!

I hope they can help you fix your Droid quickly so it can return to full service with the other two droids.

May the Force Be With You,

    Ashley F.
