Hello!!! I will be going to WDW with my wife, my mother and my baby girl (23 months old). I have been reading about Rider Switch as well as watching videos about it, but it is still a bit confusing for me... Could you help me out please? Thank you!!!

    Hi Ernesto!

Thanks for your question. Of the many "Disney extras" Disney offers to its guests, I've always thought the Rider Switch program was one of the more caring programs that Disney offers. My children are much older now, but I recall the days when they were toddlers, and didn't meet the height requirements of many attractions. On the same token, Mommy and Daddy certainly wanted to experience it (The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is a good example). This is how the Rider Switch program works:

    1. Your entire party (you, wife, Mom, and baby girl) will need to approach a Cast Member at the attraction entrance and ask about the Rider Switch program.

    2. The cast member will then hand a Rider Switch ticket to Party 2, which is the party that would be staying back, say, with your baby girl.

    3. The first party then enters the attraction, as the second party (Party 2) waits for Party 1 to finish.

    4. Once Party 1 finishes the attraction, Party 2 can then walk up to the Cast Member, turn in their Rider Switch ticket, then enter the attraction (generally through the FastPass entrance). If Party 1 (say Mom in this instance) waited with child, when it's her turn to get on the attraction, she can also bring either you or your wife along so she doesn't have to ride the attraction alone. Cool huh?

Just a note that not every attraction offers the Rider Switch program, so be sure to ask the Cast Member if it's being offered for the attraction you're interested in getting on.

Hope this helps clarify it some. Have a magical time at Disney!
