Going to WDW in 2 weeks for 6 nights. I was wondering which longhouse at the Polynesian Resort is Magic Kingdom view. Gave up one day for the up grade. Is it worth it? First time staying There.

    Hi Robert!

The Magic Kingdom (MK) views at the Polynesian (Poly) are located in the following buildings:

    • Hawaii (concierge level)
    • Tahiti
    • Tuvalu
    • Aotearoa

As far as the decision on the view...it's really a personal choice.  I've had the opportunity to enjoy the MK views at the Poly on a couple of occasions and I can tell you it was spectacular as well as convenient.  Convenient because when our children were smaller, they were able to watch  the fireworks and the Electrical Water Pageant (EWP) from the comfort of our room, in their PJs.  And if one of them fell asleep before then, it wasn't an issue.

However, I experienced the rooms with the views before Disney started to charge more for them.  I am thrilled I was able to enjoy the MK views in the past but to be honest, I don't think I would pay extra for them now.  The resort is so beautiful that I'm equally happy in a garden view room and it's a very short walk from any longhouse to the beach to enjoy the fireworks/EWP.

I'd recommend that you think about your personal situation.  Will you be in the room enough to enjoy the view?  Do you have a situation that might make the view more convenient (i.e., small children)?  Are you happy with the fact that your vacation will end a day earlier in support of the view?

No matter what you decide, this is truly a win-win situation.  And in case you're interested, you may be interested in reading an unofficial site called TikimanPages.  There are lots of great detail dedicated to the Poly on this website.

Robert, I hope your stay at the Poly is truly magical, no matter what view you end up choosing!  Diane
