It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Michelle!
My family and I love using the
Disney Dining Plan when we're on vacation. It gives us the opportunity to try lots of new things but still offers us the flexibility to enjoy all of our old favorites as well, plus we usually save some money when we use it which is really important as well! One of my favorite things about the Dining Plan is that it is always evolving based on what guests want and need and in 2018 it was updated to include alcoholic guests over the age of 21, so let's chat about what happens when you have a child who is on the same Dining Plan as all of the adults but is not yet of legal drinking age.
Even though she is 12 and considered to be an adult on the Disney Dining Plan, your daughter will not be able to order an alcoholic beverage since she is under the age of 21. Her age is associated with her
MagicBand and her balance of Dining Plan credits so she will not have the ability to order alcohol, even if it's technically for somebody else. I totally understand wanting to make the most of those Quick-Service and Table-Service credits, but alcohol and serving laws just won't permit it, unfortunately. There is still plenty of fun to be had though because she can still order a milkshake or a specialty drink like a mocktail when you're sitting down to eat! A lot of restaurants have some milkshakes in really fun flavors and really imaginative specialty drinks too. My favorite kid-friendly drink at the moment is the Mystic Portal Punch from
Woody's Lunchbox at
Disney's Hollywood Studios, so grab that while you're enjoying your Barbecue Brisket Melt and Totchos!
Have a magical day, Michelle!
