We are going to WDW the 1st week of March. Our little prince will be turning 1 during our visit. We plan to have his 1st hair cut at the barber shop. Anything else we could do to help make his 1st birthday special?

    Hi April,

Disney World is the perfect place for your little Prince to celebrate his first birthday! Be sure to pick up a "Happy Birthday" button for him at any Guest Relations location. That will help Cast Members recognize that it is his birthday & they can help sprinkle pixie dust all day. You are going to be thrilled with having his first haircut at the Harmony Barbershop. Both of my boys had theirs done there & it was so super cute!

I think a character meal is in order to celebrate this occasion. Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort or The Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom are awesome places for a birthday meal! You could order a custom cake by calling 407-827-2253. They offer a nice selection of different cakes from which to choose. They need 48 hours advanced notice & advanced dining reservations are required.

If you'd like to get a small cake for your son, you could get a mini cake in a Pirate's Treasure Chest which comes with a special surprise toy. You may have to save the small toy for later but these small cakes are a perfect size for a little guy to dig into. These cakes are available at most Family table service locations. Call 407-WDW-DINE for more info.

You could also pick up a super cute "It's My Birthday Ear Hat".  Its a special ear hat that can be found at The Chapeau at the Magic Kingdom and other shopping locations throughout the resort.

For a cool keepsake, pickup an Autograph Book and have the characters sign it for his birthday.

You could also schedule a private family portrait session with Disney's PhotoPass Professional Portrait Sessions.  To learn more call 407-934-4004.

Wishing your Little Prince many magical 1st birthday memories :-) Allison
