    We are going to be at WDW the week leading up to the Princess half marathon in February 2012. It looks like Big Thunder Mountain will be closed, but the new Dumbo will be open! What else can you tell me about rides that week?

    Are you running Disney's Princess Half Marathon? If so, I'll encourage you to register for the race as soon as possible, as this event is currently 59% full!

     

    To answer your question regarding Magic Kingdom attractions, it looks like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will be closed for refurbishment for some cosmetic and special effect repairs. According to my sources, they will also be replacing one of the lift hills on the ride. However, you can expect to see some sections of Storybook Circus opened during your dates, including the new double Dumbo ride! It is anticipated that the Fantasyland/Storybook Circus train station and the Great Goofini coaster will be open around the same time as the newly relocated Dumbo. However, Disney has not confirmed the opening dates for these attractions. I would encourage you to read the Disney Parks Blog for news and updates about the New Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom.

     

    To confirm any attraction closings, go to the Magic Kingdom calendar and click on the numeral for any specific date. You will be able to see the highlights for the day, as well as, any operational updates and/or attractions closings. These will be listed over to the right of the page. You can find similar information on any other Disney theme park too. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you.
