We are going to WDW 2nd week of July of 2019 (not week of 4th) and have never been during this time. I'm concerned about the parks reaching capacity. Is this a common week for the parks to reach capacity and close?

    Hi Susan,

A summer vacation to Walt Disney World Resort sounds awesome. Still a few months away, but the best time to start planning is NOW!

My favorite time of the year to visit the Resort is during the holidays. My family and I have celebrated many Christmases at the Resort, and sure, we know it can get a little bit busy. That said, we have yet to experience a park being closed due to capacity. We always stay at a Disney Resort Hotel, we plan on entering a Theme Park no later than mid-morning, and always take advantage of the available Resort Transportation.

There are a few levels of closures and although this information is not readily available, some of our friends at TouringPlans.com keep historical information. They mention the last time a Theme Park was completely closed down due to capacity was Magic Kingdom Park in April 2009. All other levels of closures will still allow Disney Resort Hotel Guests to enter.

One last tip: remember to make any advanced dining reservations 180 days before you arrive. This is another way to help you enter a Theme Park in most situations. Happy planning!

    Ricardo.
